Asian Cultural Council Fellowship Grants for Artists

Opens for Application

Application Deadline: 1 November, 2011

The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) has opened its application process for fellowships to be awarded in 2012 and invites young arts professionals in Hong Kong, Macau, China and other Asian countries to apply for funds to support specialized training, conduct research and pursue creative activities in the United States. Programs ranging in duration from three months to one year will be considered.

Deadline for applications is November 1st, 2011

for programs to be carried out from July 2012 to December 2013.

Arts institutions, educational and cultural institutions are also eligible to apply to the Council for support for projects of exceptional importance involving cultural exchange between Asia and the United States or regional exchange between the countries of Asia.

The ACC’s program covers all the visual and performing arts, both contemporary and traditional. Fields of awards include archaeology, architecture (design, history and theory), arts administration, art criticism, art history, conservation, crafts, dance, film and video, museology, music, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and theatre.

Application Procedures

Individuals and institutions wishing to apply for grant support should apply to the appropriate offices as below.

The final decision will be made by the Council’s Board of Trustees in New York at its meeting to be held in May 2012. Following the meeting, all applicants will receive notification regarding the status of their applications.

The Asian Cultural Council, founded by John D. Rockefeller 3rd in 1963, is a non-profit foundation which supports cultural exchange in the visual and performing arts between the United States and the countries of Asia. Over the past four decades, ACC has supported more than 6,000 arts professionals, many of whom are now prominent members of the arts communities in their home countries.
